Utilizing Organic Waste, Brantas Abipraya Creates a Clean Environment

Jakarta, 29 January 2023 - PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) shows real evidence of creating a clean environment by utilizing waste, namely waste generated in projects. One of the programs carried out by the Borobudur Art Village Arrangement Project in Kujon Hamlet, Magelang is processing project waste into benefits for the environment by making compost.

"Every project inevitably produces waste, be it organic waste, inorganic waste, or other residual material waste. "If the waste is not processed properly it can pollute the project area, so Brantas Abipraya carries out good and correct waste processing so that it can be beneficial for the environment," Sugeng Rochadi, Main Director of Brantas Abipraya.

He also said that rubbish is solid waste, consisting of organic and inorganic materials which are no longer considered useful and must be managed properly so as not to disturb or endanger the environment. Included in the Environmental Development Pillar of the Social Responsibility (TJSL) program, organic waste in the form of dry leaves that were previously useless can be converted into compost for greening and fertilizing plants in the project area.

Located in the Borobudur Temple Area, Magelang Regency, the arrangement of the Borobudur Art Village will use an area of 10.7 hectares. The development, which is a national strategic project (PSN) to support the super priority tourism destination (DPSP) Borobudur Temple, is planned for completion in 2024.
